Trekking Is Officially Allowed In Pune District And Here Are The Do’s And Don’ts!

If there is one thing that binds Punekars together besides their undying love of Misal, it’s trekking. Pune has a pretty strong and enthusiastic community of trekkers who love to conquer new heights and revisit the old ones time and again. However, like many other things, trekking was banned during the pandemic. However, the district authorities have now given the permission for trekkers to resume their favourite activity.

So, what are the new guidelines? Not more than 15 people will be allowed to trek in a group. Thermal screening is mandatory for every trekker. In case there is a big group, they need to be divided into smaller batches. Overnight trekkers are a strict no-no. Plus, trekkers will have to carry their own food and water. People will cough and cold shall not be permitted to trek. Those found violating these guidelines will face action against them and permission to trek will be prohibited till further notice.

This order comes as a sigh of relief since trekking is considered to be a way of relaxation for many. Plus, the time between November and January is considered to be the best time to partake in trekking. Not only Pune but the district of Kolhapur has also given a green signal for trekking to commence in their region.
