Pune Shivers As It Recorded The Second Coldest Day In a Decade

Just when you thought you could put away those sweaters, gloves and warm wear, think again. With a cold wave sweeping the state, Pune recorded the second coldest day as mercury dropped to 5.1 degrees on February 9th making it the second coldest day in a decade! Yes, we’re serious!

Keep those sweaters handy as the officials at the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune suggested the cold wave due to the Western Disturbances will continue for a couple of days and the temperature can fluctuate between five to seven degrees.

Not just Maharashtra, the cold spell has been observed across Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. This week, heavy snowfall, hail and rainfall were reported from some of these areas and cold winds from the region affected central India and parts of Maharashtra too! *shivers* So light those bonires and get cosy with a hot cuppa and enjoy the winters while it lasts.
