Pune Metro Named Aqua And Purple, Metro Coaches To Have All These Advanced Features!

There's excitement in the air as Pune is all set to get its first Metro. While the trial runs have already begun and the authorities are positive that the Metro will begin its operations by the second half of 2020, there are new and exciting details about the features and names of the Pune Metro.

Pune Metro Named Aqua And Purple

Metro
The Metro running from Vanaz to Ramwadi is called Aqua. The reason behind the name is because this particular routes has two rivers- Mula and Mutha and the Metro will travel through them. On the other hand, the Swargate-Pimpri route is named Purple. The colour Purple stands for royalty and wealth, it's apt for the ever growing industrial area of Pimpri-Chinchwad. 

Attractive Stations Depicting The City's Culture

Pune MetroNot just the Metro but the stations to be beautified as well. The Deccan station to have the look of Puneri Pagdi which stands for the city's pride and honour whereas the Vanaz station would have a design of a sitar. 

Pune's Famous Spots To Be On The Coaches

Pune MetroSpecial focus would be on the exterior of the coaches with art works that will show the most famous, iconic and important spots of Pune. They include the Shaniwar Wada, the Mandai, IT Hub, etc. Even the colours used have a significant meaning behind them; Orange represents youthfulness, creativity and joy of PCMC citizens. Blue stands for truth, intelligence and confidence of Pune citizens and Green represents the abundance of green and trees all around the city. Purple stands for valour, power and dedication of Punekars

Features

Pune MetroThere are separate coaches reserved for women which are Pink in colour. There are priority seating arrangements being made for pregnant women, senior citizens, physically challenged, wheel chair bound. LED lights will control the illumination and there would also be LED strips which would light up and indicate which side the platform is and also charging points for electronic devices. The trains can run at a maximum speed of 90 km/hour.
