You Can Now Combine Your Love For Jogging And Cleaning Up The City With Pune Ploggers

Inspired by Sweden’s idea of plogging, techies in Pune have taken it upon themselves to jog and clean the city at the same time. Say hello to Pune Ploggers, a community which started back in September and has already managed to engage more than 100 citizens already.

Staring their on Swachata Abhiyan with a twist, techies in Pune are on a mission to change the face of the city. Vivek Gurav wanted to mobilize support to clean the streets of Pune but realised that to keep the members of the group motivated, he will have to add something a little more interesting to it. Vivek got inspired by the Swedish idea of plogging which combines jogging and picking up litter.

The citizens have welcomed the move with open arms and the idea of giving back to society while improving one’s own health has changed the way people look at cleanliness drives. The idea has worked like magic and in just three months, the group already has a whopping 100 volunteers from all around the city.
A team of 20-25 individuals pick a particular area each week and invest their energies to make it spick and span. The ideology of the group has spread like wild-fire in other cities too.
