Looking To Learn The Ukulele? We Found The Perfect Teacher In Pune

Who doesn’t love music? And every musician started somewhere, learning how to play an instrument from scratch, if you’re bored of the regular guitar or find drums too loud but want to play a musical instrument that will be music to your ears then say hello to the ukulele and we found the perfect teacher in town to teach you.

On a personal note, as a person with absolutely no musical inclinations, learning a musical instrument was a daunting experience. But I was sure I didn’t want to learn the guitar. Here enters the Ukulele a Hawaiian instrument that ushers sweet melodious and happy-sounding music and I knew I had found my calling. There is no dearth of music schools and classes in Pune, but there aren’t many who teach the Ukulele either. Here enters Luv Mahtani who teaches Ukulele in Pune.

Having learnt the guitar as a teen and understanding music theory, Luv is a self-taught Ukulele player. His teaching journey began when he put out a request online to find a Ukulele teacher when he wanted to learn the instrument but soon hit a dead end and that was a turning point when he decided to take the reign and start his very own ukulele classes in Pune and spread the love and knowledge of the instrument. What started off as a class teaching one person in a friend's living room has now grown into a two-year fully-fledged job with two batches in Camp near Synagogue Street and at Gyaan Adab Centre in Kalyani Nagar that take place twice a week (8 classes a month) for the duration of an hour per session.

The classes take place twice a week for an hour and you’ll learn everything from the basics including theory to actually performing in front of a crowd and other class participants every three months in a student showcase named -Strum Away. Here students get a chance to perform a new song or a song they learnt in class in front of an audience! Sounds great right? A complete beginners course spans over three months where you’ll learn songs like I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, Tonight You Belong To Me by Eddie Vedder and many more. So, strum away peeps!
