The iconic play ‘Jaanta Raja’ (wise king) is making a comeback in Pune after a hiatus of 12 years! The mega play is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj life through the years and it will be taking place from December 25 to 29 in a five-day extravaganza.

Each day will represent one play and a lot of effort is going into making these plays happen. It includes a massive outdoor set, a total of 150 artists, camels and elephants too will be part of the stage and storytelling. Each play is scheduled to last around three hours. The play is set to take place at Shinde Grounds, Vadgaon Buduk on Sinhagad Road.

Spearheading this play, Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare, the 98-year-old writer-director of the play also stated that Maharashtra’s new Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray is also expected to attend one of the shows staged by Ashtamudra Productions. The tickets will cost anything from Rs 250 to Rs 1000 and students can avail a special students discount! So gather the gang and don’t miss out on this mega play in Pune.
