This newest vista dome train plying from Pune to Mumbai has been going viral on the internet. This one-of-a-kind train lets you soak in the majestic views of the hills, ghats, tunnels and valley thanks to its glass roof and big glass windows that offer spectacular views of the emerald ghats and the rich flora and fauna too! This 22-year-old train passes through key locations in Maharashtra like Ratnagiri, Chiplun, Sindhudurg and makes its way through the Konkan and Western Ghats. It also passes Karbude Tunnel which at 6.5 km is one of the longest tunnels in the state. You can see the Arabian Sea kissing the Maharashtra coastline at Sindhudurg, and see a carpet of green plantations in Chiplun allowing you to capture the best of Maharashtra’s countryside. 

Goa Express (Pune-Goa)

This train has been operating since 1987 even before the evolution of the Konkan Railways, making this train ancient! Although this train doesn’t originate from Maharashtra, it passes through it. This superfast train passes Margao, Belgaum, Sangli, Satara, Pune, Daund and it is the only passenger train that passes through the famous Dudhsagar Falls daily. Also, witnessing this waterfall during the monsoons on the Braganza Ghat in its full glory should be your primary reason to take this train (Just kidding, not).
