Not Just Any Thali, Duravankur's Maharashtrian Thali Is Love On A Plate!

This iconic 21-year-old vegetarian Maharashtrian thali spot has made a mark in Pune for its asal and toothsome Maharashtrian khana. So, let’s take a virtual trip to flavour town and dive right in.

Durvankur Dining Hall
Since 2000, Sadashiv Peth has been home to Durvankur Dining Hall that is known for its amazing and authentic vegetarian Maharashtrian thalis that will simply bowl you over. The no-frills place is always house full (pre-covid) and people had to wait for their turn to be seated. Just like the place, the menu is very simple. They have three different types of thalis; Weekdays (Monday to Saturday), a Sunday and Public Holiday Special and a Ganesh Chaturthi Special Thali

Each thali has individual bowls of three kinds of veg preparations, dal, kadhi, khichadi, chapati, thalipeeth, bhakris, dahi wada, papad, fresh salad, dhokla, bhaji and two sweets. If you go during the summer months you can enjoy the special aam ras with chapati or puri. Yum, yum! The Ganesh Chaturthi special features more sweets like puran poli, basundi, with some savoury like dhokla, dahi wada, masala rice, bhaji and two veg items. One of the coolest things here is that if you finish your thali without any wastage you can get a flat 20% discount which is a great way to deter people from wasting their food.

Durvankur

All the food is cooked in-house on the first floor, and it is simple, comfort and wholesome food that makes you all happy and mushy. For just Rs 330, this is a steal deal! Sadly, due to the pandemic, the full-blown experience of eating here is against the best interest of the diner, but it is an experience, one must definitely try.
