City-based artist, Shweta Singh Baidya, has been working as a full-time doodle artist since she started Diseno Studio in 2010. Her journey as a custom shoe painter began when she was on a holiday and her mother threw out her old PT shoes. Eureka! The idea to paint shoes for a living was born on that day and little did she know that this idea would soon turn into a booming venture. Today she has made one-of-a-kind shoes for many people in the city, country and across the globe too! Not to mention celebrities like Boman Irani and Dharmesh Yelande to name a few!

To get a pair of shoe painted for yourself is easy. All you have to do is first decide on a pattern or design that you’d like on your shoes, then get in touch and share your idea with Shweta, who will further help you design the artwork by adding her little touches to it. Lastly, give her your shoe size and she will take care of everything else. When we say customised, not only can you pick your own design, but you can also pick your choice of slip-on’s or lace-up’s and pick shoe brands from Vans to Converse to even a non-branded shoe if you’re budget doesn’t allow you to splurge.

It takes anything from 10-15 days for Shweta to work her magic and put her final touches to it, before she ships it to your doorstep. The price range starts from Rs 1,200 (for simple design) and can go up to a maximum of Rs 8,000 (intricate design) depending on your preferences. You can pick anything from cartoon characters to superheroes to doodles or your favourite club or food or band. The possibilities are endless! If you’d like to unleash your creative side, she also conducts shoe painting and doodling workshops over the weekends that you can try out.
