Only a week old, Brasserie Cliq is a cosy restaurant tucked away behind the Dhole Patil petrol pump. Helming the restaurant, Chef Rode has created a wonderful all-day menu to bring you a great dining experience. The menu is extensively French but draws on some influences from European cuisine as well.

The menu is diverse in salads, tartines, pasta and mains with a good mix of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. We tried the Grilled Peaches, Burrata, rocket,  passion fruit and vinacotta (reduced black grape dressing) salad, perfect portions for two, the salad has the perfect mix of sweet, salty, spicy and crunchy. You can opt for the soups that look really promising or like us dive right into the tartines.

All you mushroom lovers, HAVE to try the Mushroom A La Grecque (the names are a little hard to pronounce, but with food so food, it doesn’t matter) a medley of pickled mushrooms, sauteed button, shitake and oysters on a bed of ricotta, pesto and roasted pumpkin seeds served on crispy sourdough.

Unfortunately, the mains only have non-veg options, but the pasta menu is filled with vegetarian-friendly food. We tried the Sous-vide Stuffed Chicken Breast with Caramelised onion, pistachio granola in a mushroom cream sauce. The chicken was cooked to perfection. No exaggeration there, the meat just falls apart. We also tried the Confit Duck Leg with apple and beet marmalade, duck fat fried potatoes and caramelised peach on a bed of sauteed kale. Every bite is a party in your mouth. With very little to fault, out plates were wiped clean.

Aren’t desserts the best part of every meal? The Vanilla and White Chocolate Creme Brulee with a rhubarb and yoghurt sorbet is just what you need to end the meal with. The deconstructed format makes it easy to eat, at the same time, it’s light and not too sweet. Also, the Passion Fruit and Dark Chocolate Souffle with toasted coconut ice-cream takes 25 mins to be prepared, so don’t forget to place your order in advance if you don’t like the wait.
