Located in the heart of Kothrud, Mhatoba Tekdi is home to the Ugamsthan (main temple) of the tribal God Mhatoba Dev. An ideal spot not just for devotees but for hiking enthusiasts as well; the tekdi offers gorgeous views of the city. You can reach the top after a short 30 mins hike from either ARAI or Vanaj. Mhatoba devasthan is a beautiful structure housing idols of deities and a deepstambh; where you can pay your respects and relax to soak in the sunrise/sunset views. The tekdi stretch is rich in its variety of flora and you can observe many flowering as well as non-flowering trees.

A quiet getaway full of solitude, away from the bustling city streets is the gorgeous hillock of Warje Tekdi. With dense vegetation and lush greenery, the hillock is no doubt beautiful all year round. But it gets a whole new makeover with a thick blanket of greenery in the monsoon months. It is rich in biodiversity, with a variety of flora and fauna and it even has a small pond where you can see colourful lotus flowers in full bloom! And it of course is a great spot to soak in mesmerising sunset views with bae!

Looking to spend some me-time with nature and that too without leaving the city? Panchvati is a lovely green and hilly walking trail that will appeal to every nature lover. The trail is accessible from Pashan, Chaturshringi, Patrakar Nagar and Law college road; you can pick the route that’s most convenient for you. Ideal for early morning walks or jogs; this hill is also known for frequent peacock sightings. And the best part, many pet parents bring their pets for a walk here so you can bring yours along too and have them socialise with furry friends.

Swami Narayan Tekdi is situated in Narhe off the Mumbai-Bengaluru National Highway. It is named so because of its proximity to the BAPS Swami Narayan Temple; a stunning, ornate and grand temple dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan. But even more beautiful than this man-made structure is the Swami Narayan hill. A pleasant hiking trail offering you gorgeous views of the surroundings including the water body of the Jambhulwadi Lake; this is a lesser-known gem that is a must-visit for everyone.

Bavdhan Tekdi

Surrounding greens, gorgeous views and a calming atmosphere; the Bavdhan Tekdi has everything you could ask for in a hiking trail. The hill can be accessed from Bavdhan road and it is clean and well maintained with carefully planted trees. It even has a rainwater harvesting facility on top. The climb is quite easy and it is ideal for a fun and relaxing evening outing with the fam!
