Thanekars Get Their Batata Wada & Bhajiya Fix At Aunty Vada Pav Cart In Thane

Auntie’s cart is an iconic stall run by a couple that has been there for almost 3 decades and is every Thanekar’s fav. If you are craving lip-smacking Vada Pav or Bhajiyas then you have to head to Mrs & Mr Apte’s Famous Aunty Vada Pav Cart. I have never come across this kind of tasty Vada in over ages! It's a typical Maharashtrian-style made with love.

What’s hot about it?

They dish out a mean Vada Pav (Rs. 15) and even some out-of-the-world delicious Bhajiyas such as Palak Methi, Mirchi, Aloo, Moong Dal. A mixed Bhajiya plate would cost you Rs. 25.  What sets them apart is the variety of chutney that they offer– Meetha made with Imli, Spicy red powder chutney and also a typical Maharashtrian-style green thecha chutney.

The best part is how the couple is always synchronized. Her husband is usually the one who sorts out the masalas, and even takes care of the frying, while she takes orders. They are usually completely sold out by the end of the day.  I have personally seen locals Q up and wait to get their hands on the piping Batata Wadas and Bhajiyas.

Hot tip:

They are open post 3 pm until 8-9 pm. You can even try a Bhajiya Pav with Aloo Bhajiyas and thecha – it tastes amazing!
