As kids, most of our summer holidays and school picnics included a day trip to Matheran. Since it’s a no car zone, most people don’t explore it much beyond the market area, but we suggest you put on comfortable shoes and walk up to the highest point of the area – One Tree Hill. Located nearby, Fleetwood House is for animal lovers and after walking an hour to get there, you will be welcomed by a handsome fleet of dogs. The four-bedroom colonial house is rather simple and stocked with recreational games, television and music system to keep you entertained. The property itself though is spread out and has a badminton court with garden chairs on the side from where you can enjoy the morning sun. The caretaker is on call 24x7 and will happily cook your favourite dishes as well as run down to the market if you need anything.

The Brook At Khannas Farm, Karjat

We’ve always fancied owning a Victorian home in the hills, but the real estate rates might not allow that just that.
