Mumbai Couple Rode 1400 Km On Their Scooty To Surprise Their 6-YO Son On Birthday

This is one of most heartwarming things you will read today. We promise! Some stories just leave your heart a gooey mess and this is one such story! Selvam and Sangeetha, parents of two, drove 1400 kilometres on their scooter just so they could meet their children!
The couple stays in Sion area of Mumbai where Selvam runs a grocery store. They have two kids and right before the lockdown in March, they had dropped off the kids to Pudukkottai to spend vacations with their grandparents. While the plan was for the kids to spend quality time with Sangeetha’s parents and return home after a few days; the pandemic had other plans!

The vacation which was meant to last for 7 days stretched to more than 7 months without the couple seeing their kids even once. And with no direct trains to Trichy and the ever rising air-fares, reaching Pudukkottai was becoming more difficult by the day.

Their son Yogeshwar was to celebrate his sixth birthday when the couple decided they'd had enough of this separation and took matters literally in their own hands. They drove a whopping 1400 km from Mumbai to Pudukkottai on their scooty just to surprise their son on his birthday.

The journey took them a total of 37 hours; with one stop in Kolhapur and one in Bengaluru. Stretching over 3 days; they covered 300, 800 and 398 km respectively on each day. Budgeting their finance by staying at cheaper lodging options they managed the entire trip in just about Rs 7000.
We sure hope Yogeshwar was elated to see his parents. And kudos to the parents who drove all the way! Now this is what true love looks like, isn’t it?!
