An idea that was actually rejected thrice! Bringing alive the Buddhist Temples of Thailand isn't an easy task because of the intricate designs and the structural brilliance sustained through thousands of years. Despite the challenges, Rajasthan Mitra Mandal is all set to stun Kolkatans by accomplishing this task. This year, they will be creating this Buddhist Temple pandal and featuring Goddess Durga inside the amazing exhibition.

A statue of Buddha will be shown meditating under the Peepal Tree and to showcase the marble work, craftsmen from Medinipur have been hired to work on plywood, thermocol and clothes. Inside the grand temple, you will be able to see Mount Kailash and atop the structure, Devi Durga will be seen on three lions instead of one.

Inside the 41 feet high structure, the main 15-feet Durga idol will be of Southeast Asian origin. Made of clay from the banks of river Hooghly and Ichhamati and adorned with herbal paint, you will be stunned by the jewellery and design work on the idol. Also, it will be the very first Durga Puja pandal which will have a separate ramp for disabled people. Drawn by their success of Puja pandal crafted from cashew skins the previous year, Rajasthan Mitra Mandal will take the celebrations to the next level.
