These 10 Hill Stations Of North Bengal & Northeast India Are A Treat For Wanderlusts

1. Darjeeling

Of course, I would begin my list with the Queen of the Hills. Darjeeling is one of the most exotic, beloved, and popular hill stations, not just in the Northeast region but also throughout India. The view of Mt Kanchenjunga from the lush-green, aromatic tea estates of Darjeeling with an outstanding view of river valleys, makes every penny spent worthwhile. 

2. Shillong

One of the most popular hill stations in India, the captivating beauty of Shillong is truly divine and does justice to the mystifying charm of the North East. The capital city of Meghalaya draws a striking resemblance with the enchanting, undulating landscape of Scotland and hence, it is often referred to as ‘The Scotland of the East. 5. Sandakphu

Standing high with pride and honor is the highest peak of West Bengal is Sandakphu, a Lower Himalayan peak offering an escape from the daily cacophony of stress and traffic. What was known to very few people is now brought forth by us as a journey to be remembered. n the common boundary of West Bengal and Nepal, the Sandakphu peak is situated in the Ilam district with an altitude of 11,930 ft. As small glacial streams surround the town of Bomdila, the wandering Buddhist monks and the equally appealing Buddhist monastery increase the wonder of this village. 7. Gangtok

The capital of Sikkim is of course the dream destination of wanderlusts. If you ever plan a visit in the Northeast, Gangtok becomes the central point of your journey. 8. Kohima

9. Aizawl

Perched at an altitude of 1132 meters above sea level, Aizawl is periwigged with an extensive tribal culture and cavernous curves of nature. 10. Yumthang

Yumthang lies about 120 km away from the capital of Sikkim AKA Gangtok, and you need permission to visit the place given its close proximity to the China border. The closest abode you will find is the petite  Lachung hamlet on the mountains, shrouded with mist and fog, an inescapable beauty.
