Donate, Earn Points And Shop At Twirl

If you’re wondering what to do with your overloaded wardrobe, head to this website for solutions.

We always end up hoarding our wardrobes, don’t we, and it was this dilemma that led engineer-turned-entrepreneur Sujata Chatterjee to come up with the perfect way to cut down cloth wastage - launching Twirl. It went live in September, and offers cotton and linen fusion wear for women.

But here’s the amazing part - shopaholics can donate their clothes to Twirl, earn points and use them to shop on the website! Look for the Twirl boxes through their website, or mail in the clothes. Plus, they don’t charge anything for shipping. Now this is what we call a sustainable fashion revolution.
The clothes people give to Twirl are generally donated to underprivileged women and children through their donation drives. Else, Twirl uses them to make cushion covers, stoles, neck pieces, jackets, bags, calendars and other things. Soon Twirl will also offer corporate gifts made of fabrics.

Twirl is an all-woman-run e-commerce website that empowers rural women as well through outsourcing embroidery work to them. Singer Kaushiki Chakroborty and Joita Sen of Senco Gold and Diamonds are two of Twirl’s sworn customers.
