Dolphin-Spotting On Your Mind? Head To These Beaches In Goa For A Delightful Sight!

Goa is many things. A party freaks wild night come true, a nature explorer's paradise, bird-watchers go-to spot, a foodie's trail map, and so much more. The beauty of this gorgeous state cannot be summed up in words. There are so many things to see and do here. And if an offbeat experience of spotting playful dolphins splashing in and around the waters is something that interests you, then these are the beaches you need to add to your must-visit list!

1. Bat Island

Also called the Pequeno Island, you can spot beautiful shoals swimming in the sea right in front of you. Plus, on some good days, you can spot dolphins playing in the sea. Ah! That is a sight to behold. Over the years, Pequeno islands have gained popularity amongst global tourists. They mostly have rocky beaches that are breathtakingly beautiful. There is a patch of greenery on the island and you'd wanna just sit and stare and soak it all in. You can spend an entire day on the island. All you gotta do is hire a boatman, ask them to drop you off at the island in the morning and pick you up in the evening. You can also spend a night there. You can reach in the evening and get a pick up in the morning. Spending the day or night will give be the best private island experience you can imagine having. The best time to visit Bat Island is between October to May.

2. Mandrem Beach

Tucked away under the coveted skies of Goa, around 21 kilometres from its capital Panaji, is the coastal town of Mandrem. An absolute treat for the eyes, with its sparkling teal waters and secluded beaches, Mandrem makes for the perfect spot to connect with yourself away from the chaos of the city.  You can also pay a visit to the dolphin spot and get a glimpse of these cute friendly mammals (sometimes we tend to forget they’re not fish) and trust us the sight is aww-dorable! There are plenty of things to do there, and you will have a gala time!

3. Mobor Beach

Part of the stretch that is south of Vasco Da Gama to Sal River, Mobor Beach is pristine, clean, tranquil, and a dolphin's playground! Mobor is also considered an extension of Cavelossim Beach, which is gorg too! Not only popular for its beach and water activities like windsurfing, jet skiing, parasailing, ATV ride on the beach, and more; you can even go for dolphin spotting here. The delta of the River Sal is ecologically considered very important. Apart from watching dolphins play, you can even do something unique like underwater fishing and oyster catching.

4. Grande Island

Grand Island, also known as Ilha Grande or Bat island is one of the best places to experience underwater activities in Goa and also spot dollies. You can reach this island by taking a boat ride and you can opt for island tour packages that include dolphin sighting, snorkeling and fishing. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced diver, the island has certified diving packages for everyone. Located off the coast of Vasco de Gama, the island has many excellent diving spots with depth ranging from 7 to 20 metres. You can even try scuba diving here. #sweet

5. Sinquerim Beach

In the North, Sinquerim is the beach known for its gorgeous beauty. It is also a popular take-off point for dolphin safari. The mammals love to play in the waters around, and you can book a boat tour or a Dolphin tour with many operators operating here. The sight is one to behold and you will be mesmerised by their playful nature. These boat tours often show you the Millionaire's Palace, Aguada Fort, etc.

6. Palolem Beach

One of the most beautiful, picturesque, and calming beaches of South Goa, Palolem is paradisiacal. The white sands dotted by greenery, clear waters, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, Palolem is a dreamy beach. And you know what will amplify your trip? A dolphin safari. You can either book through an operator or simply crack a deal with a local fisherman to take you to deep waters where you can see these lovely creatures splash around and play. It is going to be an experience for the memory book.

Other beaches where you can go for Dolphin-spotting are Cavelossim Beach, Morjim Beach, Aguada Bay, Agonda Beach, Miramar Beach, etc.
WHTip: While most of the tours range from Rs 250-800, depending on the places and the operator you choose, it is a best practice to get hold of a local fisherman to take you for one. They know the waters better and will share a note or two with you about the dollies that normally others won't!
