Enjoy The True Goan Susegad Life At This Musical Village In Goa Barely An Hour Away From Mapusa

Known mostly for its parties and drinking beer by the beach, Goa has a much more peaceful side to it than most people realise. Its villages are a haven for peace and quiet and enjoying the true Susegad life. One of these quiet villages is Ucassaim.


Located in Bardez, North Goa this place is known as the musician’s village. Every morning, this pretty place wakes up to guitar strums and beautiful voices. The village is known for its inclination towards music as many families here were musicians. 


The village looks like something out of a postcard, with beautiful Portugese Villas and paddy fields that surround it all around. The quiet village is nestled amidst hills and makes for the most scenic getaway.

The place is home to a beautiful church called the St. Elizabeth Church, dedicated to St. Elizabeth, Queen of Portugal. The church is decked up in lovely blue and white paint and has a rich history that makes it worth visiting. The village has a rich culture, the happy-go-lucky folks celebrate feasts and stay true to their roots, music! 


In the evenings, you will find people chilling and enjoying the sunset over a glass of feni. This is not the place to party hard and stay up all night, but one to take a pause and just enjoy the wholesome Goan life. 

The village is barely 2 km away from Mapusa which is the biggest city nearby. You can either rent a homestay here or just come for a day trip to relax and unwind.
