Election day in Delhi is fast approaching, and the Capital is gearing up to make it a smooth and fruitful process. One such effort is being made by the Delhi Metro authorities that have decided to start the train service two hours prior to the regular timing i.e. at 4 am. This will be applicable on all metro lines in the city. This decision has been taken to help staff on election duty to reach their designated spots in a timely fashion.

Trains from Dwarka to Vaishali would start operating at 4:30 am. The running frequency of trains, till about 6 am, will be 30 minutes. Thereafter, they will operate according to the regular timetable.

The current span of Delhi Metro is 373 km. It covers 271 stations that include Aqua Line (Noida-Greater Noida) with a daily ridership of approximately 30 lakh.

The city will be voting to elect party members to seven parliamentary seats on May 12.
