Handcrafted Cocktails Meet Lip-Smacking Asian Food At The Kimono Club In The Chanakya

One of the best things about The Kimono Club is that each dish and cocktail promises a distinct taste and feel.

Delhi is the hub of food activity in the country, especially when it comes to the opening of new restaurants, cafes and bars. After The Chanakya got its much talked about makeover, it instantly became a hotspot with its swanky food court and designer stores. We recently saw a crowd on the ground floor of the mall, which led us to discover another newly opened haunt that we highly recommend to all Asian food lovers.

Say hello to The Kimono Club, which looks as eccentric as it sounds. This newly opened restaurant-cum-club in The Chanakya already has people pouring in for its lip-smacking food and drinks.

The brainchild of Joydeep Singh and Ashish Dev Kapoor, The Kimono Club will impress you with its collection of cocktails and champagnes as well as its menu of modern Asian food. Ask anyone who attended the rather glamorous launch and they'll tell you everything about male dancers wearing kimonos, neon lights, electric music and swinging geishas occupying three separate spaces within the club/restaurant.

While ordering at The Kimono Club, start with a glass of champagne or ask the bartender to make you a yummy customised cocktail using house cordials and champagne. You could also try the frozen martini which gets inspiration from the Silk Road and comes with flavour options like sugarcane, dill, truffle and negroni.

As far as the food is concerned, the focus is primarily on Japanese and Chinese cuisine. The menu is nothing short of treasure for the meat-loving audience as they can enjoy a massive variety including oysters, seafood and duck. Some of the signature dishes crafted by The Kimono Club chef are the Wok Fried Soft Shell Crab, TKC's Surf & Turf Jumbo Prawns, Tamari Glazed Sea Bass and Braised Spring Chicken. There are plenty of small plates, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, as well maki rolls and dim sums to savour at this new Asian restaurant.

One of the best things about The Kimono Club is that each dish and cocktail promises a distinct taste and feel, so you will always be surprised (in a good way) no matter what you order. Plan a weekend meal here if you're looking to savour some authentic Asian food.
