Massive Fire At Kalindi Kunj Metro Station, Train Movement Temporarily Stopped

A massive fire broke near the Kalindi Kunj metro station on Friday morning, due to which all the Magenta line metro services will be shut for the day.

Today morning, a heavy fire broke out at the furniture market right next to the Kalindi Kunj Metro Station where 15 fire tanks were sent to control the flames. Luckily, there were no casualties reported but the train services have been affected for today due to the blaze.

The metro from Kalindi Kunj to Botanical Gardens has been currently stopped due to the smoke and fire from underneath the section. Passengers travelling on that route have been advised to take another metro route today.

The fire started around 6:00 AM Friday morning and the fire chief officer received a call and sent six fire tenders to the station immediately. But, by then the fire had already spread so much that more fire engines had to be sent to control the blaze.

Fire officials also reported that the major fire was spread due to the plastic and wooden materials stored in the same section. Many houses in the nearby areas also had to be evacuated to prevent any further mishap.

For the regular passengers, short loops between Jasola Vihar and Janakpuri West are being run for today, so make use of that while the Delhi Metro fixes this problem.
