Get Desi Meals From This Noida Startup & Help Home Chefs Earn Up To Rs 1 Lakh A Month!

From Kashmiri Wazwan to Hyderabadi Biryanis, these chefs are cooking up a storm!

One thing this pandemic has taught us is the importance of being home. Home-cooked meals are back in business, the living room has become the new office, and moms are the chefs of the season. Of course, for students and young professionals living away from their homes, these luxuries far from reach, but a new Noida-based startup is helping bridge this gap by supplying them 'ghar ka khana' from different home chefs in the city and providing them entrepreneurial opportunities.

The 'Homefoodi' app is building a 'work from home' ecosystem for home cooks which helps them earn up to Rs 1 lakh a month by connecting them directly with foodies seeking home-style food.

Homefoodi app, started in 2019 by a husband-wife duo, Narendra Singh and Dr Mona Dahiya, works on a "made-to-order" basis which helps "stay-at-home" moms get substantial work while giving foodies fresh food. All the home chefs associated with the app are FSSAI registered and follow standard operating procedures, hygiene, and packaging. Once you place an order, the app sends it to the nearby home chef, and delivers it via their logistics partner. After each meal, you can give a feedback for quality assurance and improvement.

The app algorithm also highlights the bestselling dishes of each chef along with customer reviews, so people can pick a home chef they prefer. Similarly, it keeps the work timings flexible for each home chef so that entrepreneurial endeavours do not come in the way of family time. The prices, menu and area of delivery can also be chosen by the home chefs themselves. Since the profit percentage given by Homefoodi is higher than other delivery apps and the orders are regular, home chefs can make more money with less work. Besides, the "made-to-order" system limits wastage of resources, time, and the uncertainty of selling out. The app is planning to extend its operations to Gurugram by the end of 2020.
