Several places in north India have been facing unbearable heat, therefore everyone's been heading to the popular hill stations, leaving them jam-packed due to a surge in traffic. When the heat gets to you, the first place that probably comes to your mind is Manali or Shimla. But, it seems like the popularity of these destinations is disrupting the lives of the locals there.

To put a cap on this situation, the Himachal Pradesh government has announced some new rules and measures that will help deal with the heavy inflow of vehicles. So, if you're planning to take a trip to any of these hill stations, then here are a few points to keep in mind:

1. Tourists travelling beyond Shimla via Chandigarh will be diverted from Shogi towards Dhalli, before they can head to their destination.

2. The administration has put a ban on pick-up vehicles during the peak hours, between 7:45 AM to 10:00 AM, to reduce congestion.

3. Trucks supplying construction material will not be allowed to drive on the road during the day.

4. Travelling on Saturday would be a better option, as the authorities have shut all schools on Saturday to cope with the weekend rush.

5. Do not travel during the week as it disrupts the lives of the school children in these hill stations.
