Please note- While you’re doing this, make sure you follow protocol yourself.

Not all superheroes wear capes, some just bear the burden of the entire family on their shoulders! Now that the domestic help might not be available for some time, do your parents a favour and help out at home. Even the slightest help, such as cleaning around the house or cooking food alternatively will not just ease their workload but will also be fun to do together!

Bring back the golden days of your childhood as you quarantine at home by playing some exciting indoor games with your family. If you don’t have board games such as Business/Monopoly, Scrabble, Ludo, or Snakes & Ladders at hand, fret not, for you can also indulge in your favourite childhood chit-based games like Raja Mantri Chor Siphahi (because, why not?) or even hide and seek for that matter!

7) Physical Exercise

Obviously, you can’t go to the gym in these days of self-isolation. However, that’s not an excuse - you can still easily continue (or start!) regular fitness sessions right at home. So, whether you prefer to sweat it out by indulging in physical exercises like push-ups, squats, crunches, spot running, skipping, and more, or are more partial to yoga and doing a bunch of asanas that will keep you flexible and in shape, don’t become a couch potato sitting at home!

Please note - If you are a beginner, it’s best to follow a YouTube tutorial or take an experienced person’s help.

For most people, this is an activity that is already part of the daily routine. However, quarantine has given all of us a lot of free time, and Netflix, Amazon Prime, Voot Select, MX Player, and other such platforms are committed to filling that time by releasing more and more interesting content that you can binge-watch.

In case you get tired of watching series, switch to YouTube, where there is a plethora of short films that you might yet to discover! To name a few, I watched Devi, Ghar Ki Murghi, Ahalya, Kriti, Piper, and Borrowed Time, which blew me away completely!

Webinars are one of the most impactful ways to discuss new ideas, participate in quality conversations, review different thoughts, and gain a whole lot of useful insights! Even podcasts, for that matter, are a godsend as you can listen to them uninterrupted as you go about your daily business. So whether you’re in the mood to learn something new or just want to hear some words of wisdom on a topic you’re interested in, subscribe to your favourite channels on your smartphones and you can rest assured of a wholesome and informative time at home.

Webinar Tip - I’m currently following The Global Shapers New Delhi Hub. They are organising a series of free webinars, spanning topics like mental health, self-care, and new realities of living, and have roped in experts to participate. Check them out here.

Podcast Tip - One of my all-time favourite podcasts is The Ranveer Show, run by popular entrepreneur and motivational speaker Ranveer Allahbadia, that you must give a shot to.

On that ‘sweet’ note, go back in time, listen to old (and embarrassing!) stories about each other, and reflect upon how much you’ve changed since then!

When you were at work and running from place to place for meetings, you must have prayed for some time off. And now that you got a longer break than what you wished for, although in less-than-ideal circumstances, take this time to rest and recharge. Don’t panic and keep yourself and everyone else in your home hearty, relaxed, and positive.

I hope these ideas work wonders for you just as they are working for me. Meanwhile, if you also have a few more ideas to share, please let me know in the comments section below. Stay safe, stay indoors!
