Head To This Hidden Trail In Mussoorie During The Next Weekend

This hidden trail in Mussoorie is just seven kilometres away from the main town and is a secluded trek that no one knows about (not yet, at least).

Located seven kilometres away from Mussoorie, this hidden trail is known as the Benog Tibba, that lies in the midst of Benog Quail Sanctuary. Home to various Himalayan bird species, this sanctuary is a part of the Rajaji National Park that has still been kept hidden from the knowledge of many travellers. One might go to Mussoorie and trek to places like Nag Tibba Summit or Har Ki Dun Trek, but Benog Tibba trail is often overlooked.

What makes it so special? It's completely sequestered! Yes, the only fellow travellers you'll find is wildlife, which isn't ad company when you walk through the trail. Another advantage of exploring Benog Tibba is that even though it's a seven-kilometre long trail, the level of difficulty of the trek isn't much. It's quite easy breezy and can even be done by beginners.

If your accommodation is in the main town area, then you could head towards George Everest House, and the trail takes you through beautiful meadows and villages. As you walk further, you also come across the bird sanctuary which you located near the valley.

Get away from the hustle of the city, breathe in some fresh air, rejuvenate your mind, body and soul; and while you're at it, do take some amazing pictures of the valley, or stop for a quick snack, overlooking the beautiful scenic views.

The trail is well marked with sign-posts, so even if you want to go off the beaten track, don't worry, you'll find your way back. At the top, you will find a temple from where you can get panoramic views of the Yamuna valley; and if you are the kinds who carries a tent in their backpack, then you can stay back, camp for the night and return at the first light.

We would recommend you to carrying food and snackable items, along with a bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated.

Not challenging, unexplored and less-crowded, we suggest not to explore the commercial hill stations this summer, but embark on journey that involves you going on a 'path less taken'.

Best Time To Visit: Throughout the year
How To Reach: Take a bus to Mussoorie and head towards George Everest or Kempty Falls
