Government Introduces DigiLocker & mParivahan Apps To Store Your Driving Licence, RC & Other Documents!

The two apps, that were introduced by the Government, will allow you to store documents like your driving licence, RC, PAN, and Aadhar Card!
Since the implementation of the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill 2019, traffic police departments across the nation have been on a mission to cut challan after challan, with hefty fines, to teach violators a lesson in driving ethics. However, amidst the set of new and reaffirmed penalties, there is some good news for commuters as well - you no longer have to carry physical copies of important documents like your driving licence or RC!

Whenever you commit a traffic violation, showing your driving license and your vehicle’s documentation to the traffic personnel is the standard protocol. However, an alarmingly large number of motorists actually don’t carry this documentation with them, which only ends up making matters worse when they are given a challan.
Well, it looks like lawmakers have finally decided to make things easier for us! As per new provisions in the Motor Vehicles Act 2019, you now have the option of digitally storing important documents on DigiLocker and/or mParivahan apps. These apps, that have exclusively been introduced by the Government, will serve as the safest option for digitally storing your driving licence and car’s RC.

Using these apps is also quite easy. The mParivahan app, requires you to sign-up and store your driving license, as well as your vehicle’s RC, by searching for it under specific categories. This app also allows you to track your vehicle when it gets towed, besides letting you know if you have any pending fines to pay.

On the other hand, DigiLocker provides a more comprehensive storage format for storing your vehicle’s documents, SSC marksheet, PAN card, Aadhar card, and more!
Both the apps are easily available on Google Play Store, as well as on Apple's App Store.
