And now, the authorities are on their way to making a ropeway commute system to the airport. How cool is that? The ropeway system will be connecting Ram Mandir in Ghaziabad to the Jewar Airport that is set to have five functional runways.

Uttar Pradesh currently boasts of two metro links that connect you to the New Bus Adda, Dilshad Garden and Anand Vihar. The ropeways are being considered to have three new routes, from New Bus Adda to Ghaziabad Railway Station, Electronic City to Vaishali and Mohan Nagar to Vaishali.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 35-70 crores. Ropeways have proven to be great transport for ferrying goods, especially in mountains. Although, in the city, it might serve a different purpose, like solving the daily hassles of commuters and escaping the traffic on the road.

A ropeway system requires not only lesser space than that required for a metro project but also costs way cheaper as far as construction is concerned. Once, the ropeway system is ready, it will be a self-sustaining model which means that only if it gets profits and enough commuters to travel on it that it will be able to sustain itself.
