Check Out Our Alternatives To These 5 Glorified Restaurants In Delhi!

It's your foodie right to eat the best.

1. QD's

This eatery in Satya Niketan perhaps started the trend of Tandoori Momos, but it is no longer the only one serving this dish in the city. There are plenty of other joints, such as Brown Sugar, Hunger Strike and WOW Momos that offer a hearty plate of charred, steaming momos you will absolutely love. So, if you're new to Delhi, don't make the special effort of going to QD's just for you know what. The dish is sadly not their trademark anymore.

2. Elma's Bakery, Bar & Kitchen

Elma's was once the only bakery in Delhi with that quintessential British home-like charm, with its simple, pastel colours and floral decor. It was known for serving English High-Tea, generous portions of cakes, and wholesome sandwiches. That, however, is no longer the case, as enough bakeries in Delhi now replicate the homely vibe that was once the distinguishing feature of Elma's. These include the newest Pearl Boutique Bakery in Greater Kailash 2, Rose Cafe in Saidulajab, Ivy & Bean in Shahpur Jat, and several others.

3. Indian Coffee House

This old (and now almost creepy) coffee and breakfast place in Connaught Place is on the list of many tourists who visit the capital city. Known for its egg sandwiches, mutton cutlet, samosa and coffee, Indian Coffee House has been feeding office crowds in the bustling CP area for years now. But, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's a must-visit for all. The quality of food is quite mediocre and nothing to boast about. The prices are extremely reasonable, so if you're short on cash, go ahead and visit the place. Other than that, eateries like 'SodaBottleOpenerWala,' 'The Grammar Room,' 'Cafe Tesu,' 'Social' and 'Cafe Delhi Heights' are serving all kinds of regional breakfast dishes and classic sandwiches that taste way better; plus the ambience adds to your dining experience.

4. Khan Chacha

Has Khan Chacha been your go-to rolls place for years now? Well, we're not suggesting the iconic eatery is doing a shabby job with its signature dish; but with the opening of multiple outlets, there's definitely some compromise on the quality and taste. So, next time you're craving a meaty roll, try other places like 'Saleem's,' 'Qureshi' or 'Aap Ki Khatir' (Kailash Colony) as they serve phenomenal rolls that might make you switch, for at least a while!

5. Giani's

The original Giani's (Giani-di-Hatti) in Chandni Chowk was started by Giani Gurcharan Singh who won the hearts of foodies with his mouth-watering rabri-faluda. Later came in the shakes and ice creams that are now selling at their multiple franchises. While we aren't putting the place down for the taste of ice creams is pretty good, but there are definitely other places in the city where you can get more textured ice creams in better, more unique flavours. For instance, 'Natural's' is great for those who like pure milk ice creams in all kinds of fruity flavours; and 'Oh So Stoned' serves some amazing stone cold ice cream sundaes and waffle-ice cream combinations like 'Boozy Banoffee' and 'Strawberry Shortcake.'
