Eggs & Chicken Offerings Banned In Delhi Until Further Notice In The Wake Of Bird Flu!

As COVID-19 settles down a tad bit, Bird Flu haunts the capital city and its adjacent areas.

As per reports, in the wake of the rising cases of Bird Flu in Delhi, the three municipal corporations have banned the selling and consumption of eggs and chicken dishes in the city. Consequently, these offerings will go off the menu cards of all the eateries operating in the national capital until further notice.

This step may give a big blow to the poultry industry and even to meat-specific roadside shops, restaurants, and cafes. In fact, bakeries also have to follow the same rules and restrict the use of eggs and chicken in their offerings.

Reports further convey that strict actions including the cancellation of the licence shall be taken against those who are found violating the rule.

Authorities have also warned people not to touch dead birds and always wear a mask and gloves while feeding the living ones.

"Just as we were emerging from the impact of Covid, news of the bird flu came in and people started avoiding eggs and chicken despite all the precautions we were taking. This has impacted our sales” tells Rohit Agarwal, Director of Lite Bite Food, to TOI.
