Delhi is home to beautiful monuments but amongst them are some who are lesser-known and one of them being the Bhool Bhulaiya in Mehrauli, which is a tomb for Adam Khan. This underrated historical monument is right behind the Qutub Minar area and in front of the Mehrauli bus stand, which makes it quite accessible to the public eye.

However, it's overshadowed by Qutub Minar but little do people know that this is one of the very few monuments that exist from Akbar's era and is an amazing instance of architectural excellence in the city.

But, one of the other reasons people don't really go here more than they would go to 'Qutub Minar' or any other monument is because of the spooky stories people have heard about the monument. One being when this random group of wedding guests took shelter in the abandoned mausoleum and ended up missing, so now many believe that people get lost in the entwined architecture of the monument.

Ever since then, the monument was named the 'Bhool Bhulaiya' which means a maze indicating people who go in get lost and may never come out. Pretty spooky, right? Well, that's not all as the tomb from the beginning was built for a man named 'Adam Khan' who was known as the general of the emperor Akbar. He was rightfully executed for murdering his colleague, hence the tomb was built in 1562 in the shape of a dome, which now people believe is haunted.

But, now that people are over the fact that it might be totally haunted, you will still see a good number of people heading here during a nice day when the weather is good and sunny. Families even head for picnics here and the tomb is sprawling with youngsters and couples during the weekend and is even space for photography enthusiasts to practice their skills.

Even though the monument was once considered spooky, people are slowly getting over this fear and treating it like any other tourist spot.

You can visit the tomb between 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is open every day, but we still don't know what happens here during the night so we wouldn't recommend trespassing during the wee hours of the night.
