The opening of this alternative flying base is especially beneficial for people in Ghaziabad, Noida and East Delhi. The cities to which you can take flights to from the Hindon Airport include Hubli, Shimla, JamnagarKalburgi, Pithoragarh, Nashik, Kannur and Faizabad. So, no more getting stranded in the long queues at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, you now have an option to take off from Hindon!

We know you're already excited about this new infrastructure in the city, but hold on, there's more good news. Flying from Hindon will be cheaper as compared to using the IGI. This is because the airport was inaugurated under the special RCS-UDAN scheme of the Modi government, which with the help of subsidised services, aims to make air travel more affordable for citizens. The scheme allows the government to cut taxation on fuel as well as other airport services, and in addition provides greater financial assistance.

An amount of 40 crores has already been spent on constructing the terminal, which has a flight update display system, fire alarm, baggage scanners, CCTV cameras and other essential airport amenities. It is also equipped with sustainability features like double-insulated roof, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting mechanism and insulated wall panels (double-skinned) among others.
