10 Gin-Based Cocktails You Can Make To Celebrate World Gin Day

Time to brush up your bartending skills!

Gin is the future of the alcohol industry. The goodness of juniper berries, the richness of its texture, and the depth of its flavour make this underrated drink a favourite of anyone who loves a tipple. So with World Gin Day approaching near, we decided to tell you about 10 gin-based cocktails that you can make to celebrate the occasion from the comfort (and safety!) of your home.

1. A Classic Gin & Tonic

Celebrations can never go wrong when you start them with a gin and tonic. Good for beginners, this classic cocktail is pretty easy to concoct and doesn't require much time or effort in its preparation. The less sugar content also makes it a favourable choice if you're checking your calories.

2. Negroni

If you find yourself thirsting for a lip-smacking gin cocktail, that acts as a palate cleanser as well, we suggest shaking up a Negroni. Equal parts Campari, vermouth, and gin, this is a bittersweet cocktail that is ideal for dinners. Italians usually start a meal with a Negroni, so that's probably a hint that tells you a lot about its flavoursome appeal.

3. Tom Collins

Made with gin, red wine syrup, Perrier, and lemon juice, Tom Collins is the perfect Saturday night cocktail, one that screams "PATRTAAYYY!" A lip-smacking Tom Collins with some bar snacks can freshen up anyone's evening.

4. Gin Toddy

Feeling a little under weather? Why not concoct a Gin Toddy and keep the celebrations going? Just take a wine glass, add lemon juice, sugar, and of course gin to it. Pour in some hot water to dissolve sugar, garnish it with a cinnamon stick, and voila! Your Gin Toddy is ready to serve.

London Dry Betel is a fine example of how even the simplest of ingredients can help make a killer drink. This one has gin, betel leaf, elderflower, lemon juice, and tonic water, all mixed together to create a refreshing drink that is perfect for summers.

6. Vesper Martini

If you're celebrating World Gin Day with just a couple of friends and want to kick the party up a few notches, a Vesper Martini is the perfect follow up. A heady combination of gin, vodka, and wine, this one will definitely throw you off your feet.

7. Gin Rickey

Named after an American lobbyist from the 19th century, Gin Rickey is the perfect highball that you need to celebrate World Gin Day. After all, this lime-based cocktail is not just energetic, but also incredibly refreshing.

8. Bees Knees

A cocktail that will always make you weak in the knees, this lemon and honey infused concoction was a product of the Prohibition era. If you get this right, you can successfully give yourself a pat on the back as you gulp in the sweet and sour flavours of your enticing drink.

9. French 75

A perfect date night beverage, this bubbly glass of gin, orange liqueur, and lemon is quite easy to make as well. You can top it with a fizzy mixer of your own choice, even something unconventional like champagne? Now that's exciting!

10. Gimlet

The best things in life are simple and understated, just like a Gimlet. This three-ingredient cocktail (lime juice, simple syrup and gin) is easy to shake up and will totally rejuvenate your senses. You can top it with basil and cucumbers for the perfect summer surprise.
