Sarposh's Sumptuous Sit-Down Meals Will Transport You To Kashmir, One Dish At A Time!

Hailing from Srinagar, Azmat Ali Mir struggled to find authentic, flavourful Kashmiri food in Bangalore and knew there would be others like her. Identifying this simple gap in the city’s buzzing food scene is what led her to start Sarposh. A lovely laidback restaurant and tea room in Indiranagar, the place believes in sit-down meals where you savour sumptuous spreads at a leisurely pace. Sticking to traditional recipes and sourcing several ingredients from Kashmir, these guys really take their fare seriously. This is instantly evident from their detailed menu which lists out tempting starters, mains, desserts, trami platters and Kashmiri kehwa options.

Super-soft and delicious, the Shami Kebabs and Seekh Kebabs (in chicken or mutton variants) are perfect to start you off. Or go for the Tabak Maaz – a rack of lamb ribs with Kashmiri spices – for a true taste of what lies ahead. The mains are a true explosion of flavour with a good balance of veg and non-veg options. Think preparations like Ruwangan Tchaman, Lahbi Kebab, Gushtaba and Marchewangan Korma. Not sure what to order? Azmat is usually around to help out with suggestions. Order up helpings of their Zafraan Batte or Kashmiri Pulao along with breads like Lavasa and Girda to mop up the curries. Better yet, opt for one of their Trami Platters which give you a good mix of the dishes in true Wazwan style. 

While you can end your meal with desserts like Zafraan Firin and Shufta, we’d rather stay and drink our way through their Kashmiri teas. With options like Nun Chai (a salted pink tea), cardamom-laden Dodh Kehwa and rich Zafraan Kehwa to pick from, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Organic Kashmiri produce such as walnuts, chillies and tea are also available at the restaurant. Apart from walk-ins, the folks at Sarposh also put together private experiences.
