Bangalore Folks, You'll Soon Be Commuting On Driver-Less Metro Trains!

We remember the dark times before Bangalore had a metro. The transportation not only took time, we couldn’t avoid (what Bangalore’s known for) traffic jams. And commuting has been much, much better since the metro. However, we have news – Namma Metro will soon be driverless!

That’s right. If everything works out according to the plan, trains along the Yellow Line (RV Road-Bommasandra) will have state-of-the-art driverless trains. A senior official mentioned that this would eliminate the driver’s cabin, making more room for the commuters.

Introduced as a part of CBTC (Communication Based Travel System), the trains will be operated from a control centre and will reduce human errors, making it safer for the passengers. This is already operational in over 40 cities across the world. Time for Namma Metro to get an upgrade too, don’t you think?
