Meet Megan Rakesh, a nine-year-old who has managed to wow Alicia Keys with her viral rendition of the singer’s hit, Fallin’. Starting from the young age of three, the little singer from Bangalore has already gained a fan following for her covers of artistes like Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse.

When Megan Rakesh, a nine-year-old girl from Bangalore, joined an Instagram live hosted by content creator, Danny B, and sang the hit track, Fallin’ by Alicia Keys, little did the young singer know it would catapult her into instant fame! The video went viral on Tik-Tok, garnering more than a million views within 24 hours. What’s more, the video was shared by none other than Alicia Keys herself! A magical moment indeed for Megan who idolises the American singer-songwriter! 

The talented youngster from Bangalore has been singing since the age of three, we hear. While she began by singing at her father’s shows (he was part of a music band named Out Of Office), Megan turned to doing covers of popular artistes like Whitney Houston, Shania Twain and Amy Winehouse. During the lockdown of 2020, her parents began sharing her singing videos on their personal social media handles. While the nine-year-old sang her heart out, her father would play the guitar in the background.

Realising their child’s immense talent, Megan’s parents began looking for Instagram lives by musicians in which the young singer’s prowess could be showcased. Starting off with a live with Ehsaan Noorani and going onto do Insta live shows by international artistes, Megan has sung on various platforms. After her Fallin’ rendition went viral, she has even been approached by artiste management agencies from the US and the UK! Although Megan has wowed the likes of Hariharan, Shontelle and Jake Qukenden, the nine-year-old’s most favourite moment is always going to be when she saw Alicia Keys had shared her video! Still gushing about the joyous incident, Megan continues with her incredible singing, leaving us in complete awe.
