KSRTC Passengers Will Now Be Stamped After Thermal Checks Before Boarding The Bus!

In an attempt to bring confidence to travellers, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will now be stamping the hands of all passengers before allowing them to board the bus.

The stamping will be started apart from the usual thermal screening which was being done since the resumption of bus services in Karnataka. The decision was taken after the government noticed a sudden jump in the rise of COVID-19 cases reported from Bangalore. The round stamp is quite different from the home quarantine stamp. The measure has been taken to ensure that the passengers feel safe and assured that their co-travellers don’t have any COVID-19 symptoms.

The ink will wash away within a day’s time which is enough to last through the bus journey. It also helps the bus conductor in identifying if a passenger has been thermally screened. Those who fail to stamp will be sent a notice and conductors have been asked to note down the contact details of the passengers as well. At present, the Kempegowda Bus Station has only one entry and exit where people are screening before boarding. The others are being screened at the designated pick up centres. We hope this step provides clarity to the passengers as well as help the KSRTC bus staff keep a track of the travellers.
