Srirangapatna is a popular spot for both history buffs and nature lovers. While the place has historical significance, considering Tipu Sultan took over the throne after Hyder Ali at the Srirangapatna Fort, the town has also got a secret, and it comes in the form of Balmuri Falls. Falling from a mere six feet, Balmuri Falls is a man-made cascade on river Kaveri.

Set out for a memorable picnic with bae or perhaps a relaxing getaway with your bros. The waterfall, along a dam, is pretty calm. This means you can walk around in the ankle-deep water, or even take a relaxing dip. The view of Kaveri flowing past the greenery here surely makes it an ideal spot for that much-needed picnic.

The waterfall is also immensely popular amongst filmmakers! As a result, we can see Balmuri falls featured in Kannada movies and even Bollywood movies! While the 1972 film, Pakeezah had scenes with the Balmuri Falls in the background, you might be more familiar with it from the scene of Aamir Khan and Karishma Kapoor dancing to “Kitna Pyaara Tujhe” in Raja Hindustani. You can finally recreate those dance steps! Overall, you should definitely add this to your travel list and get going on this short, sweet trip.
